Tom O’Hagan, Founder and Managing Director
Tom O’Hagan is a leading figure within the telecommunications industry and has worked in the sector, both in the UK and internationally, for more than 14 years.
In 2012, Tom was named a ‘Young Gun’ by Growing Business in its annual list of the top 30 young entrepreneurs in the UK. Today, Tom is highly active within the Channel, speaking at industry events and taking active membership in telecom’s governing bodies.
Simon Durrant, Sales Director
Simon has worked in telecoms for more than 12 years in a career that has seen him work for telecommunications companies based both in the UK and abroad. As Sales Director at Virtual1, he is responsible for strategy and business development, and has played a crucial role in building the business’s reputation for customer focus.
James Hickman, Chief Technical Officer
James is a well established member of the telecoms industry. Before joining Virtual1 as Chief Technical Officer, James worked as Head of Technical Consulting for Telstra International, developing and implementing highly complex global WAN and hosting solutions for clients in the UK and internationally.
James is Chartered by the Engineering Council and the British Computer Society, is an associate of many industry bodies and in 2010 was appointed as an Arbiter for RIPE.
Kalpana Shah, Finance Manager
Responsible for running the financial aspects of Virtual1, Kalpana boasts more than 15 years’ experience in finance across a range of industries, from retail through to the telecommunications sector.
Mike Crouch, Operations Director
Mike is responsible for the operations side of the company, including provisioning, support and customer service.
He has enjoyed more that 30 years working in telecommunications with extensive experience within the carrier sector, having worked for the likes of Telstra, Level 3 and BT in a variety of roles that has included heading up Operations, Sales, Engineering and Customer Service teams.
Stephen Scott, Non Executive Director
Stephen is a renowned figure in the IT and Telecoms industry, gaining considerable experience through his work at Bridgehouse Capital where he has acted in a variety of roles including Senior Vice President at Global Switch and Managing Director at PSINet Europe and later at NaviSite Europe. Stephen currently shares his time between the pursuit of new investment opportunities and providing structural and business improvement advice to a number of Bridgehouse Capital portfolio companies.
